Description from the seller
Losa Vintage - Vintage Steel Racing Bicycle in Campagnolo Nuovo Record
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In this auction an authentic and very rare vintage racing bicycle signed by Losa, the famous Lecco-based artisan frame-builder highly regarded in Italian cycling, is offered. The high-performance steel frame stands out with a vivid red racing livery, internal brake cable routing through the top tube, chromed front fork and rear stays, and is embellished by refined pantographs with the Losa logo at the joints of the bottom bracket shell and on the chromed fork crown.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS
The bicycle is fitted with a prestigious Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset from that era. The transmission includes a Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur, a front derailleur mounted with a clamp, down-tube shift levers, and a Campagnolo aluminum double-chainring crankset paired with vintage pedals with red toe clips. The braking system uses Campagnolo brake calipers and levers with amber hoods. The cockpit features a classic aluminum handlebar stem with a race-bend finished in vintage cross-pattern red tape in excellent condition. The saddle is an iconic pink-colored model mounted on a lightweight aluminum seatpost. Completing the setup are a vintage Enervit water bottle with its bottle cage and vintage racing wheels with clincher rims shod with Michelin Dynamic Sport tires.
CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORKS
Being a high-value vintage example that has remained stationary for a period, the frame and mechanical components are in excellent general preservation. As a historic machine with precision mechanics, a quick general service, lubrication, and a cables check are nevertheless recommended before hitting the road. Visually it retains its extraordinary shine and beauty, showing only very slight, natural signs of aging on the paint and chromed parts that underscore its authenticity.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING NOTES
The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via a tracked and insured courier. Note that, to ensure safer shipping and reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle may be removed, such as pedals, saddle, rims, and the handlebars might be rotated.
