Description from the seller
General Description
Up for auction an iconic and legendary racing bicycle signed Cannondale, model CAAD Optimo in the famous metallic cherry-red and black Saeco Team livery. A true cult piece from the 1990s/2000s of American handmade production ("Handmade in USA"). The frame is made with lightweight Optimo aluminum tubing of very high performance, paired with a carbon fiber front fork for responsive, stiff, and precise handling.
Technical Specifications and Visible Components
The bicycle is equipped with a complete vintage Shimano Ultegra groupset of great reliability and precision. The drivetrain features a Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur, Shimano Ultegra front derailleur, an aluminum Shimano Ultegra double chainring crankset paired with Look quick-release pedals, and integrated brake/shift levers on the handlebars. The braking system uses dedicated Shimano Ultegra brake calipers. The cockpit includes a black aluminum Magic stem with a race bend wrapped in black tape, dual metal bottle cages on the frame, and an ergonomic Fizik Wing Flex saddle. Completing the lot are prestigious vintage wheels with Mavic aluminum rims.
Condition and Recommended Work
Being a preserved specimen that has remained in a garage or storage, the frame and mechanical components are generally in good condition. As a vintage vehicle kept idle, before taking it on the road a quick routine check is advised: greasing and lubrication of linkages, adjustment of the shifting cables, and tire inspection. Aesthetically the paint retains its characteristic and splendid gloss, showing only the usual minor signs of use and aging.
Shipping and Packaging Notes
The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via a tracked and insured courier service. Note that, to ensure safer shipping and to reduce package volume, parts of the bicycle will likely be disassembled, such as pedals, saddle, wheels, and the handlebars turned
