Description from the seller

Atala Vintage Numerata - Vintage Racing Bicycle in Steel Campagnolo Nuovo Record Stronglight

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In this listing we feature an extraordinary, rare, and fascinating vintage racing bicycle signed Atala, distinguished by the serial number punch-marked on the seat clamp node (70A1607). The artisanal steel frame is of fine craftsmanship, featuring refined chromed joints with blue finish and threads. The paintwork stands out for an elegant metallized light gray-silver tone, complemented by blue details, bands, and Atala lettering, completed by a partially chromed fork and rear stays. A highly valuable collectible piece for enthusiasts of cyclo-hicycles and L'Eroica events.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS
The bicycle boasts a very high-end period setup with historically significant components. The drivetrain includes a Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur, vintage Campagnolo front derailleur, aluminum crankset branded Stronglight with a double chainring, and clamp-on shift levers on the down tube. The braking system employs prestigious vintage Tommasini brake levers engraved and worked, paired with vintage brake calipers. The cockpit comprises a racing stem and drop handlebars wrapped in blue bar tape, with blue outer brake cables. The saddle is an authentic vintage black leather saddle with rivets, accompanied by a vintage leather/fabric under-saddle bag. Rounding out the configuration are high-flange, drilled hubs, vintage aluminum rims, and a metal bottle cage on the frame.

CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORK
As a collector’s specimen kept in storage and unused for a long time, the frame and the precious components are in overall excellent condition. Being a historic display or vintage racing machine, before taking it on the road a quick routine inspection is advised, including lubrication of the mechanisms, adjustment of brake/cable tension, and inspection of tires/tubes. Aesthetically it retains its authentic, precious original patina, with only small, normal signs of aging on the paint that testify to its history.

SHIPPING AND PACKING NOTES
The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via traceable and insured courier. Please note that, to ensure a safer shipment and reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle may be removed, such as pedals, saddle, rims, and the handlebar may be rotated.
