Description from the seller

Viner Vintage - Vintage Steel Racing Bicycle in Large Size Sachs Huret

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Up for auction is a classic and majestic vintage racing bicycle from Viner, the famous Pistoia brand of Italy’s great frame-building tradition. The steel frame of generous stature, ideal for very tall riders (large XXL/XXXL size), features refined joints and carefully crafted details such as the iconic star-shaped crest on the joints and on the head of the fork. The livery is characterized by a evocative era-inspired two-tone blue metallic and silver-gray paint finish, completed by the original Viner graphics placed on the down tube and seat tube.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS
The bicycle offers a classic and functional vintage setup. The transmission is entrusted to a Sachs Huret rear derailleur paired with a front derailleur, traditional shift levers mounted on the down tube, and an era-appropriate aluminum double-ring crankset with pedals equipped with toe clips and straps. The braking system uses classic aluminum brake arms operated by integrated road racing brake levers on a cockpit composed of a handlebar stem and a bend wrapped with blue and black camouflaged/smoked tape. The setup includes an aluminum seatpost with fluted machining, a black sports saddle, a bottle cage on the frame, and 28-inch wheels with high-profile vintage aluminum rims.

CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORK
Being a preserved example that has remained unused in a storage or garage for a long time, the bicycle presents in its original state with a pronounced patina of time. The steel frame structure is solid and free from structural defects. Before putting the bike on the road, a routine general check is recommended, including cleaning, lubrication of the linkages, adjustment of brakes and shifting, along with checks of tire and inner tube condition. Aesthetically, physiological signs of wear on the paint, minor superficial scratches, and slight blooming traces on metal components attest to its authenticity and history.

SHIPPING AND PACKING NOTES
The lot will be packed with utmost care and shipped via a trackable insured carrier. Note that, to ensure safer shipping and reduce package volume, certain parts of the bicycle may be removed for transit, such as pedals, saddle, rims, and the handlebar rotation."
