Description from the seller

Virginia Special Corsa Vintage - Vintage Racing Bicycle Greenish Water / Campagnolo Nuovo Record Universal

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

In this auction, a fascinating and rare vintage racing bicycle bearing the Virginia Special Corsa brand, a historic artisanal entity linked to the O. Frenzi cycle workshop in Modena, as testified by the iconic riveted metal emblem on the head tube. The steel frame, finished with elegant yellow-highlighted joints and the characteristic "V" of Virginia engraved on the fork crown, is enhanced by a refined light aqua-green paint job. The chrome-plated rear right fork leg and the original-era graphics enrich the frame with strong collectible value.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS

The bicycle offers a precious vintage configuration with a high degree of craftsmanship. The drivetrain includes Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur, Campagnolo front derailleur, and Campagnolo-branded shift levers on the down tube. The aluminum double-chainset by Zeus features cutouts and high-quality pantographs, paired with period pedals with toe clips and straps. Braking is provided by classic Universal Mod. 77 brake calipers operated by lightweight brake levers. The cockpit consists of a 3ttt aluminum handlebar stem paired with a racing drop and green bar tape, with yellow brake cable housing for contrast. Completing the build are a Selle Montegrappa saddle, a frame-mounted bottle cage, and 28-inch wheels with vintage aluminum rims.

CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORK

As a vintage example kept in a collection and stored for a long time, the frame and mechanical components present good structural and overall condition. Being a vintage vehicle idle for years, before use it is advisable to perform a quick general routine check, re-greasing and lubrication of moving parts, adjustment of brakes and gears, along with inspection of tire and inner tube condition. Aesthetically it retains a strong and authentic patina of the era, with small and natural paintwork signs, light superficial scratches, and oxidation on metal parts that attest to its genuine original character.

SHIPPING AND PACKAGING NOTES

The lot will be packed with utmost care and shipped via tracked and insured courier. Please note that, to ensure safer shipment and reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle may be removed for shipping, such as pedals, saddle, rims, and the handlebar rotation.

Seller's Story
