Description from the seller
Two different hand-carved wooden religious figures.
The Trappist comes from Germany circa 1980
The candlestick is Spanish circa 1950-1960
• Left figure: A detailed wood-carved statue of a smiling or kindly-looking monk or Trappist. The figure wears traditional monastery robes with a belt and holds a pitcher or bottle (often associated with a brewer or cellar master) and a cup. Such traditional statues are often sourced from woodcarving regions in Central Europe, such as the Grödnertal (South Tyrol) or Oberammergau in Germany.
• Right figure: A slim, dark-colored wooden figurine of a saint or monk in a more sober, folk-artistic or medieval style. The figure has a long beard, wears a pointed hood (or cap) and is depicted with arms crossed in a contemplative pose.
A piece of Spanish folk art that can be used as a candlestick.
Dimensions: listed with the photos.
Condition: in good condition, of course signs of use. Candle wax stains.
Photos are part of the description.
These were taken under artificial light; the color may vary. Mood impressions are shown.
They are well packed and sent by registered mail.
