We present to you a gouache on paper representing a nearly abstract composition, in fact a stylized Eiffel Tower by Jean Pierre Collin (1935-2025)

Signed "J. P. Collin" at the bottom right.
The work is presented without a frame.
Title: Stylized and Colorful Eiffel Tower,
Technique: Gouache on paper
Artist: Jean Pierre Collin (1935-2025)
Total size: 50 × 65 cm
Condition: Good condition, with some marks and signs of wear visible on the paper
The painter Jean-Pierre Collin (1935-2025), who commonly signed his works J.P. Collin, was a French artist born in Paris (15th arrondissement) and died in early 2025 at the age of 89.
He has long been part of the emblematic artists of the Place du Tertre in Montmartre (Paris), a high place of Parisian painting.
His work is marked by classical minimalism and clean geometry. His paintings, notably oils and gouaches, transform urban landscapes or maritime scenes into superb lines of force and linear cadences.
His canvases most sought after by collectors depict views of Paris, modernist urban landscapes, or series of highly graphical abstract sailboats (often dated from the 1960s to the 1980s).
