Vintage original poster from 1964: Lion with Mouse. Swierzy's posters have become iconic examples of mid-20th-century graphic design, even though they are original editions commissioned by the communist state to promote cultural events, being the only means of expression for artists of the time; they reveal a sublime protest against the regime. Printed in a handmade manner, the color tonalities often varied in intensity. This poster comes from a small Venice gallery, “Centro Posters and Gadgets,” closed in 1971, which mainly dealt with posters and pop art. Excellent condition. The artwork is accompanied by the invoice and certificates of authenticity and provenance.
