BIOGRAPHY OF SARA ARNAOUT
Sara Arnaout was born in Turin on March 5, 1971. Her childhood and early youth unfolded under the banner of cosmopolitanism and strong cultural contamination: she grew up in Amman, Jordan, her father's homeland, and then at age thirteen moved to the United States. It is precisely in the American context of the 1980s that her visual talent begins to manifest, winning early school recognitions in the artistic field at Red Bank Middle School and attending the Art classes at Red Bank Regional High School.
Returning to Italy marks her definitive academic development. She settled in Milan, where she attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with the highest marks and the honors in Scenography. Theatrical and scenographic studies left an indelible mark on her subsequent production, transferring to the canvas a pronounced aptitude for three-dimensionality and the dynamic construction of space.
Sara Arnaout's mature research asserts itself authoritatively in the panorama of international Pop Art. Her technique is distinguished by the layered use of collage, decollage, acrylics and enamels, often sealed by resin drips that crystallize the composition. Her works are true visual palimpsests that sample the iconography of American cinematic diva iconography, comics, and music, reworking them through a pictorial synthesis influenced by minimal dripping and by the masters of Italian art in the second half of the twentieth century, such as Mario Schifano and Mimmo Rotella.
Today the artist lives and works in Milan. Her work, extensively cataloged, is included in the Catalogue of Modern Art Giorgio Mondadori and is periodically reviewed in the magazine Arte. Her canvases have been exhibited at major exhibition appointments and art fairs in Italy and abroad, reaching cultural hubs of note such as Paris, Munich and Miami.
