Description from the seller

"Echoes of Time"

In this full-round sculpture, Federico Alibrio fully expresses his keen sensitivity toward matter and color, turning them into a vehicle of strong expressive and conceptual communication. The work depicts a stylized, refined barn owl, laid naturally on a wooden pedestal.
The raptor figure is shaped in glazed ceramic and stands out for a vibrant chromatic gradient: metallic tones, gray-silver and midnight blues blend toward turquoise and aquamarine hues along the body, creating a glossy, iridescent reflection.
To contrast this smooth, cold ceramic surface is the raw warmth of the wooden base. The monolithic support was not chosen by chance: it bears the visible and irreversible traces of time, carved and gouged by the burrows of larvae. This intentional juxtaposition directly engages the apparent duration of the artwork with the natural perishability of life and the impermanence of organic matter.
Concept and Symbolism
Material and Contrast: The dialogue between ceramic and wood creates a visual tension between the incorruptible brilliance of glaze and the consumed fragility of the support.
Time and Caducity: The grooves left by the natural activity of insects celebrate the aesthetics of the unfinished and biological consumption, reminding us of the inevitable flow of time.
The Watching Presence: The barn owl, symbol of wisdom and nocturnal vision, watches from the top of its base as a protective spirit rooted in the memory of wood.
N.B. The wood of the base, while preserving its iconic marks of time and the natural, scarred appearance from the larval activity, has undergone a thorough anti-woodworm treatment and has been finished with protective wax, thus ensuring a perfectly stabilized, safe, and high-quality work over time.

The piece, a unique and original terracotta sculpture, was modeled in clay and fired, then patinated cold. The sculpture rests on a spruce wood base that becomes part of the artwork itself.
The work will be shipped with careful packaging and an authenticity certificate.

The Italian artist Federico Alibrio, born in 1995, is always seeking inspiration to grow through new experiences.

Diploma in Sculpture in 2021 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania; he works in sculpture and painting. He has participated and continues to participate in exhibitions and symposia of high cultural profile, demonstrating commitment and seriousness in addressing the sculptural practice.

Reality itself is the greatest source of inspiration. His passions are: wildlife (sensitive to endangered species) and trees. His goal is to showcase the beauty of nature.
