Description from the seller
Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1970
Château Mouton Rothschild is a prestigious red wine from the Pauillac appellation in the Médoc (Bordeaux), classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé.
At that time, the estate was still classified as Second Cru in the 1855 classification, before being officially elevated to the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1973 thanks to the efforts of Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
The artwork reproduced on the label of the 1971 bottle was created by painter Wassily Kandinsky (a work dating from 1939 belonging to the artist's architectural period, kept at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris).
(Note: in the photo, the label has been dusted off and is still wet)
