Description from the seller
Pair of porcelain vases, it is an excellent and showy late Showa-era export Satsuma vase, a highly representative decorative collectible piece of mid-20th-century taste for oriental art with a dark background and floral motifs in pink and gold tones.
Satsuma / Kutani Style (Japan): If of Japanese origin, it follows the tradition of Satsuma or Kutani ceramics. It is characterized by using dark-background glazes (Famille Noire), geometric divisions delimited by golden lines with raised white dotting (moriage), and garish floral motifs.
The vase is of Japanese origin. The brown-reddish printed seal corresponds to the decorative signature of Satsuma.
• The main mark: The central logo with a sinuous or stylized form (which resembles a folded fan, a hyotan gourd, or a traditional knot) is complemented by a small circular seal to its left that encases the letters "TH" or stylized.
