Description from the seller
Born in 1977, Jone Hopper is a French artist.
At the end of the 1980s, he took his first steps on the street through an emerging movement of the time: graffiti. He tags his name on streets, walls, and trains. Known for his characters and his aerosol signatures, he created the collective TBS (The Brutal Style) with Skepa and a few other dedicated graffiti writers. We know little about him because the artist remains faithful to the spirit of graffiti and wishes to stay anonymous, believing that the work should be highlighted and not the person. Non-existent on social media, absent from openings, a faceless artist, he remains a real mystery except for a few gallery owners in the know. He compares his painting to a Hip Hop track, drawing inspiration from Basquiat, Keith Haring, Picasso, Matisse, Andy Warhol or even Bacon, sampling from all art movements—from Modern to Contemporary and including the Classic—acting like a sampler... he samples, cuts, assembles, and thus creates new images.
- Mixed media: spray paint, pastels, and acrylic on canvas
- With certificate of authenticity
