18k yellow gold late-Victorian ring with a natural 2.12 ct no-heat pigeon-blood ruby, transparent with slight inclusions, flanked by two Old Mine-cut diamonds totaling 0.70 ct, with a Guild Gem Laboratory certificate.
Description from the seller
Extraordinary Late-Victorian Ring (Late 1800s) in 18k Gold with No-Heat 2.12 ct Pigeon Blood Ruby and Old Mine Diamonds
Exceptional piece for a high-end collection: authentic Trilogy ring from the Late Victorian era (late 19th century), entirely handcrafted in 18k yellow gold. The jewelry houses a rare natural 2.12 ct unheated ruby (No Heat) with the prestigious classification "Pigeon Blood" (Sangue di Piccione), flanked by two substantial Old Mine-cut diamonds for a total of 0.70 ct. Accompanied by a GUILD GEM Gemological Certificate.
Description of the Lot
This ring represents the quintessence of Victorian-era jewelry from the late 1800s. The sturdy and sumptuous original 18k yellow gold setting features the classic, elegant three-stone inline design, with open-cut galleries on the sides to allow light to pass through the gems and maximize their intrinsic brilliance.
At the center of the composition sits a natural 2.12-carat ruby with extraordinary gemological characteristics: the stone stands out for a superb color saturation, certified as Vivid to Deep Red "Pigeon Blood" (Sangue di Piccione), the absolute most precious, noble, and coveted hue in the world. The fact that the ruby is completely natural and unheated (No Heat) places it in the select circle of investment-grade gems.
To crown this work of art, on either side of the ruby are set two splendid and luminous natural diamonds in Old Mine antique cut, whose characteristic facet pattern and high profile provide a magnificent, warm, and magnetizing contrast with the vivid red of the central stone.
