Oil painting on canvas applied to a wooden fiber panel, oval-shaped, depicting a rich still life with a vase of flowers. Set in a slim gilded and moulded oval frame with a gadrooned motif.
European school, (19th-20th) century. Bears a signature in the lower right.

The work invites the gaze as a vibrant botanical score, where the deep darkness of the background makes emerge, by contrast, the vivid and paste-like chromatic brushstrokes of the petals.
From the glossy belly of a globular vase with pearlescent shades rises an eclectic and sumptuous bouquet. In the same scene coexist opulent roses in warm crimson tones, delicate cerulean petals recalling the hues of the sky, and fuchsia campanulas that extend upward with an almost dancing elegance, capable of imparting three-dimensionality and an extraordinary sense of freshness to the buds.

The painting is enclosed by an elegant golden oval frame of the period. The inner profile is embellished by a dense succession of small rhythmic geometric engravings, capable of catching the ambient light and softly projecting it toward the center of the canvas.
