Description from the seller
Small-format bronze sculpture, limited edition by Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto.
Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988), began his training in the specialty of artistic carpentry at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. In this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and, more importantly, with workshop work.
Later he enrolls in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Trades in Santiago de Compostela, where he studies what will later become his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school that he already works with materials that will be basic in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his self-directed training and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes.
After this initial training phase, he decides to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to the place where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new approaches to communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the habitual tone of his works, thus adding complexity and depth to the whole of his output, with themes that touch both the social realm and his personal experiences.
