Description from the seller

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm and movement.

He treats the canvas as an experimental space. The painting is projected, accumulated and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross, some areas densify while others let the background breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek studio in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around the projection and superposition of colors. His works have an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of material and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral edge is intended to be folded around the sides of the stretcher, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in situ to facilitate its projection in an interior. They are created using the ArtStage mockup software, which produces IA mockups. Proportions may vary slightly depending on the setups. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, with no stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a rolled canvas. These marks naturally disappear when the canvas is mounted taut.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Items are sent by express carrier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping fees beyond my control. In that case, the buyer will be informed before shipping to adjust the fees if necessary. Without approval of these fees, the shipment cannot be carried out.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and stretcher not included.
