Description from the seller

Original and unique work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes matter, rhythm, and movement.

He treats the canvas as an experimental space. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts intersect, certain areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek studio in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and color superposition. His works have an immediate presence from afar and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of material, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral area is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in a setting to facilitate projection into an interior. They are produced with the ArtStage mockup software, which makes AI mockups. Proportions may slightly vary depending on the setups. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the real size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without frame or stretcher.

Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when the canvas is tensioned.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Shipments are made by express carrier — DHL, FedEx, or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some special destinations may incur additional shipping costs outside my control. In this case, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the fees if necessary. Without approval of these fees, the shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and stretcher not included.
