———————
I offer a painting I inherited from my parents; I don’t know where and when they decided to buy it, however my father was a painter and I am a collector, and we have always appreciated it. In the family we decided to sell it exclusively for space reasons at home, hoping it finds a custodian passionate about this painting with Flemish connotations. The painting is truly pleasant, with secure, clean brushwork and chromatically well balanced; it recalls Jan Brueghel the Elder, also known as Brueghel of Flowers, whose Ambrosiana painting is memorable. In this painting, there is a homage to those tones.
Between the 1950s and 1980s, many artists of excellent technical level produced works destined exclusively for decoration or local commercial galleries (specializing in highly demanded genres such as Flemish still lifes or landscapes). Often they did not hold solo exhibitions and did not enter the circuits of art critics, ending up not being included in official art dictionaries like the Comanducci. Anzil is one of these, not to be confused with the more highly valued Giovanni Toffolo who chose exactly the same pseudonym ANZIL.
The painter proposed passed to a Trieste auction house without specifying further biographical details beyond those already stated in these lines.
