Description from the seller

About the series "Galaxy Advertising"

For this series, Kobalt invents a language that no one speaks, not even him. A improbable mix of weightless Cyrillic and Martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this writing is supposed to be the most spoken across neighboring galaxies… No need to try translating it: it says nothing, yet it says it beautifully. A cosmic wink to a communication from very, very far away... or just from another imagination.

Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the path of a polymath artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present through his father, a designer, Kobalt discovers very young his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his precocious talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher studies in the creation of his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a rich artistic career full of experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a concept/copywriter for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cinematographer, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully establishes his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for remixing magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay away from social networks, thus preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
