Description from the seller

Figural carved wooden openwork mantel clock – “Les Chiffonniers de Paris”
Particular mechanical mantel clock, characterized by a rich wooden structure finely pierced/open-worked and decorated, with an attractive figural composition inspired by the popular life of old Paris.
At the top there is the inscription “Les Chiffonniers de Paris”, while on the sides of the dial two chiffonniers are depicted, the traditional gatherers of used materials, with their characteristic hats and lanterns.
The lower part presents a further figural scene, accompanied by elaborate pierced ornamental motifs.
The circular dial features Roman numerals, decorative hands and a metal frame.
The piece constitutes an interesting example of decorative craftsmanship, particularly appreciated for the complexity of the woodwork and the richness of the details.
Functioning:
Manual-wind mechanical clock, in perfect working order and tested.
The movement functions correctly. The model is intended exclusively for time indication, without a chime.
Winding key included.
Conditions:
The clock is in good overall condition, compatible with its age and use.
Normal signs of wear are present, with some small imperfections and defects in the wooden structure.
In particular, a crack with prior gluing in one of the decorative parts is noted and a small missing portion in one of the container-shaped elements.
These defects are documented in the photographs and do not affect the clock’s operation.
Dimensions:
Width: 47 cm
Height: 40 cm
Depth: 14 cm
