Description from the seller
Beautiful oil-on-canvas work by the brilliant painter Valeri Farras (L'Estany, Barcelona, 1950).
He is a Catalan painter whose work is part of contemporary lyrical expressionism. His painting is characterized by loose brushwork and an intense chromatic sensitivity focused especially on Mediterranean landscapes, traditional towns and scenes of nature.
Throughout his career he has developed a personal pictorial language based on the emotional interpretation of landscape and light. His works are currently in private collections.
PAINTING INSPIRATION
Valeri Farras's painting sits within the Mediterranean colorist tradition linked to artists such as Joaquim Mir, Rafael Benet, Nicolau Raurich, or Miquel Villa, where the architectural landscape is interpreted through color and the pictorial material rather than by descriptive detail. It also holds affinities with the luminous sensibility inherited from the French Mediterranean Post-Impressionism.
The work is in perfect condition and is sold with the original frame from the period, circa 1980.
The unframed measurements are 56x46; it belonged to a Catalan-origin family settled in southern Spain for decades, and it is shipped by an international company, very well packed.
