Thomas Perl (born 1962 in Cologne) is a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor of Art Informel.
The painting is a classic and expressive example of Art Informel, in which Thomas Perl mainly works.
• Dynamic application of color: In the center are strong blue tones, contrasted by red and green accents. The colors are not purely flat, but appear translucent and layered in application.
• Mixed technique: typical for his work are combinations of oil or acrylic paints with chalk, charcoal or pencil drawings, which give the image a palpable structure and texture.
• Architectural associations: Although it is an abstract work, the vertical lines, the hint of window-like squares in the blue structure and the light, sand-colored segments in the background loosely evoke a urban skyline or building facades. The Informel, however, deliberately leaves ample space for the viewer to form their own interpretations.
