Description from the seller

Now available at auction from Second Vintage

A quintessential 1960s Seamaster on a beads-of-rice bracelet. This 1966 Omega Seamaster reference 166010 presents a heavily patinated dial, framed by the robust geometry of its beefy lugs and powered by the reliable Caliber 565 automatic movement.

Brand: Omega
Model: Seamaster
Reference Number: 166010
Serial Number: 24239451
Movement: Omega Caliber 565 automatic, 24 jewels
Dial: Silver/champagne tone with heavy, even spotting and framed date window
Case Size: 35mm (excluding the crown)
Case Material: Stainless Steel
Production Year: 1966
Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: -30-32s/day, running strong and steady.

Dial and Hands
The silver and champagne-toned dial features a sunburst finish that now displays heavy, even spotting and patina across the entire surface, giving the watch a distinct and heavily patinated character. Applied baton indices with black inserts complement the applied Omega logo, while a cleanly framed date window sits at the three o'clock position. The Dauphine style hands also feature black inserts and show minor oxidation and wear visible on the metal edges, reflecting age-appropriate wear.

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a distinctive beefy lug profile, retaining its overall geometry despite the edges being slightly softened from honest vintage wear. Scratches and minor dings consistent with age and use are visible throughout the case surfaces. The smooth polished steel bezel displays surface scratches. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that shows minor surface scratches. A scalloped edge crown, signed with the Omega logo, completes the case profile.

Movement
Inside beats the Omega Caliber 565 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels. The copper-colored plating appears clean and well-preserved, with only minor marks visible on some screw heads. Engravings on the movement clearly display the Omega Watch Co Swiss signature, jewel count, caliber number, and the serial number matching the watch. The timegrapher records a rate of -30-32s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.

Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel bracelet in the classic beads-of-rice design. It secures with a signed Omega clasp and shows normal stretch and surface wear for its age, perfectly maintaining its classic vintage character. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 17.5cm.

Condition
Good vintage condition. The stainless steel case displays honest vintage wear, including scratches, minor dings, and slightly softened edges that still maintain their underlying shape. The dial exhibits heavy, even spotting across the surface, paired with lightly oxidized hands. The acrylic crystal and polished bezel show minor surface scratches. The original beads-of-rice bracelet presents normal stretch and surface wear. The movement remains visually clean and well-preserved.

Dimensions
The case measures 35mm in diameter, excluding the crown.

Remarks
This Omega Seamaster is defined by its heavily patinated dial and the excellent presence of its beefy lugs on the wrist. Paired with its original beads-of-rice bracelet, it offers a thoroughly authentic wearing experience.

History
The Seamaster line was introduced in 1948 to celebrate Omega's centenary, drawing inspiration from the robust watches supplied to the British military during the Second World War. The reference 166.010 was produced from approximately 1966 to 1970, representing a classic era of Omega design characterized by sturdy case proportions and reliable automatic calibers.
