Dial and Hands

The dial remains in clean condition with no significant spotting or damage visible. Sweeping across the dial are baton hands featuring black central inserts, matching the indices perfectly. These hands show excellent preservation, remaining clean with no visible oxidation.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a distinctive cushion-shaped geometry with an integrated design that omits a traditional bezel. Finished with polished surfaces, the case presents honest vintage wear, showing light surface scratches and scuffs consistent with normal use over the decades. Importantly, the case geometry remains well-defined. On the right side, the watch retains its crown, signed with the Rado anchor logo and showing good condition with defined knurling. A clear, domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, presenting well with no major scratches, crazing, or chips visible.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the reliable automatic caliber 2824, featuring 25 jewels. The movement has a clean overall appearance, showing no visible corrosion, oxidation, or significant wear. The automatic rotor is present and correctly signed, with further engravings clearly reading Rado and 308. On the timegrapher, the watch recorded a rate of -41-46s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, presenting a period-correct stainless steel mesh design. The bracelet shows light wear consistent with age and secures via a clasp that is properly signed with the Rado anchor logo and text. It comfortably accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 18 cm.

Excellent vintage condition. The stainless steel case retains well-defined geometry while exhibiting light, honest surface scratches and scuffs from normal use. The brushed silver dial and baton hands are exceptionally preserved, remaining clean and highly legible. The original mesh bracelet shows appropriate light wear for its age. The automatic movement is visually clean and well-preserved.

During the 1970s, Rado continued to build upon its reputation for distinctive case designs and reliable mechanical performance. The Kapell model reflects the era's preference for bold cushion cases and integrated aesthetics. Rado automatic watches from this period are particularly notable for their charming details; historically, Rado automatic watches feature a distinctive rotating anchor logo on the dial that swings freely, mimicking the motion of the winding rotor.
