Morasko Iron Meteorite, an iron meteorite from France, weighing 861 g.
Description from the seller
Hello.
I am Pierre ANTONIN (SP-Meteorites), specializing in the treatment/restoration of iron meteorites, and since 2019 I have been working on a stabilisation process using subcritical fluids (high-pressure/high-temperature dechlorination) that achieves a level of stability never before reached.
This very beautiful Morasko nodule has benefited from this treatment. My clients are private collectors, professionals, and museums such as the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
All of my iron meteorites are guaranteed stabilized; an authenticity certificate is provided, and I prioritize the quality of work and after-sales service, which is ensured for all my clients.
ADVICE FOR COLLECTORS:
PURCHASE: Iron meteorites are prone to degradation by oxidation. Before buying, carefully check the surface condition showing the Widmanstätten pattern. Be vigilant if there are traces of oxides, as this can worsen over time; prefer faces without oxidation and without thick varnish, and don’t hesitate to zoom in on photos. For complete meteorites, favor a look free of powdery oxidation or oozing signs, which indicate instability; even surfaces that have retained a natural patina must be dry and sound. Prefer sellers who offer guarantees on stability and after-sales service if needed.
PRESENTATION: All photos are taken in a studio with artificial, non-retouched lighting to achieve a rendering as close to reality as possible. The scale cube measures 1X1 cm. To obtain the same effect at home, I recommend displaying in a cabinet with suitable white lighting.
CONSERVATION: Store your iron meteorites in open air or in a display case with humidity levels not exceeding an average of 50 to 60%. If you live in a very humid region or near the sea, store meteorites in airtight boxes with desiccant to protect against oxidation.
HANDLING: Handle your iron meteorites preferably with gloves, avoiding touching the revealed faces (visible structure) which can be contaminated by acidic and salty perspiration on your fingers.
Thank you for your trust. Pierre.
