Especially beautiful is the expressive beak spout, executed with fluted ribs at the base and a stylized bird-beak-shaped mouth. The curved lid is crowned with a typical tolled knob and closes with a sturdy hinge. Equipped with the original, ebony-stained hard wood handle with pronounced thumb rest, set in tin mounting feet.
Condition:
In good, authentic antique condition with age-appropriate signs of use. The tin retains a nice, silky patina. Normal scratches, slight surface irregularities and wear on the base appropriate for more than two centuries of domestic use. Hinge and handle are sturdy and functional.
