Compagnie Générale Transatlantique French Line Paquebot Normandie - Brochure - 1935

Exceptionally fine copy of the luxury brochure that the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique dedicates to the Norman liner.

The illustrations are by Paul Iribe. Joseph-Paul Iribe, born on 8 June 1883 in Angoulême and died on 21 September 1935 in Roquebrune, was a French designer, fashion illustrator, poster designer, publisher, stage manager and decorator.

He is regarded as one of the forerunners of the Art Deco movement.

The illustrator also took part in the ship's first voyage, notably together with Colette and Jeanne Lanvin. Iribe's illustrations depict the hall, the winter garden, the luxury apartments, the grand drawing room, the Paris-bound liner, the dining room, the aft deck, the sun deck and the swimming pool.
