I create paintings using acrylic paints and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash.

Series "Not your doll" - In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest works created.
On these little scraps of paper you can read words and phrases scattered here and there.
It often happens when we really approach another person: sometimes we read their secret messages, sometimes not.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent female faces with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll and you can do whatever you want with me" with all that lies behind, which unfortunately leads to violence.
The surface presents small reliefs and I love to caress it, to feel it...
I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust.

This piece will be shipped unframed and unstretched as the work will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the extra surface is useful and necessary in order to stretch the canvas on a frame.
It is advised to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a suitable frame.
Images showing the work in interior settings are for illustration purposes only and proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an early period devoted to sculpture there was a prolonged hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I have returned to the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture behind and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint also faces of people, both imagined and real.
For me, painting is about "stopping time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "consumed, eroded by time". Sometimes the subject of my paintings is a corner of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that—over time—grow on the surface.
The passage of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs that are clearly perceptible both to the touch and to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from little pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids with mathematical precision that, when viewed up close, seem to form an abstract, colorful painting, but the more you move away, the more a portrait figure emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
