Framed original ink drawing titled 'Aquarelle originale encadrée, Rivello, 1973', dated 1973, in the Cobra style, original edition, hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity, produced in the Netherlands, frame dimensions 43 × 53 cm.
Description from the seller
Beautiful dated watercolor of August 16, 1973, provided with a gallery certificate of authenticity and provenance, created in Rivello, Italy.
Signed and dated by the painter in graphite at the top.
Dimensions with frame: 43 x 53 cm
Dimensions of the work: 23 x 33 cm
A beautiful piece that opens up to several interpretations: we are between the baroque carnival universe, as seen in some Fellini films, and the Little Red Riding Hood tale. The theme of the mask recurs very often in Lucebert.
Lubertus Jacobus Swaanswijk, better known as Lucebert, was a Dutch poet, painter and draftsman, born September 15, 1924 in Amsterdam and died May 10, 1994 in Alkmaar. A member of the CoBrA movement, he participated in the movement Experimentele Groep in Holland[1], which published the magazine Reflex in two issues from October–November 1945, with a manifesto by Constant Nieuwenhuys.
Filmmaker Johan van der Keuken dedicated three short films to him.
He left a mark on Dutch literature through the Vijftigers poetry group, which gathered, among others:
Hans Andreus (Netherlands), Remco Campert (Netherlands), Hugo Claus (Belgium), Jan Elburg (Netherlands), Jan Hanlo (Netherlands), Gerrit Kouwenaar (Netherlands), Lucebert (Netherlands), Sybren Polet (Netherlands), Paul Rodenko (Netherlands), Bert Schierbeek (Netherlands), Paul Snoek (Belgium) & Simon Vinkenoog (Netherlands).
