Perfect conditions
"The 2024 Etna Bianco Pietramarina presents itself with a remarkably pretty and complex blend of white peaches, honeydew melon, stone dust and citrus-spice aromas. The wine is wonderfully balanced and shows mineral fruit and chamomile nuances on a core of bright acidity. A sensation of liquid stone blends with a hint of soft herbs, while the 2024 finishes with excellent length and an airy lift. Very well made. It’s a playful interpretation of Pietramarina, and also the first I’ve encountered outside Benanti’s portfolio." Vinous
The first vintage is 2024. The wine bears the name "Ester Canale" – the same family tribute as for Barolo Vigna Rionda, the house’s most radiant bottling. It’s no coincidence: Davide Rosso reserves this name for what he considers the most important. 100% Carricante, raised in alberello on the northern slope of the volcano. High altitudes, constant ventilation, wide day-night temperature swings – slow and precise ripening. The vinification is lean: spontaneous fermentation, aging on fine lees in stainless steel, regular bâtonnage. The wood must not speak – here, only the soil and the micro-terroir speak.
Extra charges and ancillary fees (for import shipments) may apply if shipping to countries outside the EU.
