Description from the seller
Daniel PILOT (XX-XXI) - "Composition Abstraite et Géométrie Lyrique" - Original work in mixed media.
Contemporary artist of note: Laureate of the Casimir Raymond prize, Frédéric Clot benefits from solid institutional recognition and galleries in Europe (Switzerland, Lisbon).
A powerful and captivating contemporary composition by the French painter Daniel Pilot, fully aligned with the abstract expressionist and lyrical abstraction movements. The work testifies to the artist's characteristic handling of matter, accumulating rich textural effects, layers of paint, and precise scratching (sgraffito). The composition revolves around a luminous off-white core, deftly enclosed by dark masses of blue-black and earth tones. Two transparent blue geometric squares and pale ochre impasto structure the space with rigor, while fine incisions and nerve-like tracings (evoking naive art) energize the whole.
The mastered mixed technique (melding oil and acrylic) reveals expert use of mediums worked with a spatula and scored with a pointed tool to make the underlying chromatic layers vibrate.
The work bears the artist’s fluid, cursive handwritten signature, Pilot, in black in the lower right corner. It is presented elegantly on a textured white panel in a Marie-Louise style, offering an immediate gallery-type presentation.
Technical characteristics:
• Artist: Daniel PILOT (Listed contemporary artist)
• Technique: Mixed media (Oil, textural effects)
• Support: Painting on panel mounted on a textured white presentation support
• Dimensions: 27/29 cm
• Signature: Signed "Pilot" in the lower right
