Jara Marzulli presents Occlusione, an original oil painting (2026) measuring 103 cm by 59 cm, depicting a portrait, hand-signed, from Italy, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This painting has a very peculiar process, starting from the portrait of a woman who closes herself in her dress and looks with one eye, as if the gaze of the mind were covered and the observation of reality was undesired and questioning toward a crumbling of what surrounds the person until it becomes part of this fall.
The contrasts and the shades of blue are very intense and the surface is very jagged or smooth in certain parts, as if the work were an ancient fresco deteriorated by time.
With every work, the certificate of authenticity of the original artwork will also be shipped.
Jara Marzulli's works are part of private collections in many parts of the world, museum collections such as in Athens, in Catania at MacS, in the Pinacoteca of Gaeta and at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera and in Cadiz, Spain.
Numerous publications in important catalogs of the best artistic figuration, books and magazines, both on paper and online, with international scope. The latest book currently available for preorder published by “The guide artists,” which gathers the whole history with images of many of the artist’s works.
"La statura della palma" published by Selvatiche Edizioni, with 15 images of her works, in collaboration with the poet Francesca del Moro, is available on various stores, platforms or by orders@selvaticheedizioni.com
Jara Marzulli
was born in Bari and graduated from the Bari Art High School and later from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari with the highest grades; since 1998 she has participated in art shows and competitions, quickly earning recognitions, prizes, and important selections.
Her figurative, realistic painting style quickly became recognizable and, from 2004, international experiences began through fairs, biennials and important exhibitions.
Her art grows and tells of a feeling that is at once ecstatic and carnal, made even more incisive and moving by the technical perfection that distinguishes the artist. A lucid and piercing expressive quality, an indefinable purity that dresses in painting, a constant game of surprises, of role reversals between the artist who paints and the subject depicted.
Numerous prestigious Biennials and art exhibitions in which she has shown both in Italy and abroad, such as in Turkey, at Art Taipei Fair, Taiwan, China at Red Elation gallery, Hong Kong, at MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Dublin, at the Mainz Museum, Buenos Aires in Argentina and in London.
Jara Marzulli’s figures have intense, direct, frontal gazes. They have the dignity of subjects ready to respond with great immediacy. The characters that almost fully occupy the canvas space manage to visually represent men, women, girls and boys who seem to recognize the observer as a stranger, they support his gaze, push him away, move him away to defend the silence of their precious inner world.
