Houten boeddhahoofd in Khmer -stijl - Head - Cambodia (No reserve price)

An antique wooden Buddha head/mask in Khmer style.

The Buddha has a peaceful face with downcast, introspective eyes and a firm forehead. He has a large protrusion in the shape of a lotus bud atop his head, which symbolizes his high level of spiritual development. His earlobes are long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings.

The carving is stunning, as you can see in the fine details of the face. Every detail is rendered perfectly. Also particularly beautiful is the distinctive patina of the piece. It has certainly aged, but given its age it is a beautiful piece.

Carefully packed and insured for shipment.
