Elegant antique newspaper holder composed of a wooden frame and gilded metal cladding, probably brass or a coppery metal.

The front face is adorned with a remarkable bas-relief decoration depicting a rural scene with several figures gathered around a table, in a countryside setting. The sides are decorated with repetitive geometric motifs, while the upper metal handle facilitates transport.

The interior is divided into two compartments for storing newspapers, magazines, letters, or documents.
