Vêpres profanes - Hand signed, a 40 x 40 cm giclée on canvas by Le Yack, limited edition of 20, from France, dated 2020 or later, with certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
A nun’s face in a low-angle shot, against a royal blue sky. Impeccable guimpe, black veil, porcelain skin… and lips bright red, shiny, slightly parted on a half-closed gaze that has nothing particularly pious about it.
Le Yack here plays with imagery from movie posters and vintage pin-ups to sign a pop icon, frontal and insolent. The contrast is total: the rigor of the habit against the provocation of the gesture.
A strong piece that leaves no one indifferent — made to be the starting point for conversations.
