Roger Burlet-Vienney is a French painter, lithographer and advertising illustrator born in Paris on May 12, 1903. Having family ties in the Berry region, he later chose to settle on the famous Montmartre hill to devote himself fully to his artistic passion. For many years he worked as an advertising graphic designer while dedicating his free time to painting. To perfect his technique, he regularly attended the Grande Chaumière as well as the academies of Raymond Duncan and the Colarossi workshop. From 1938, his works entered prestigious Paris salons, notably the Salon des Artistes Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne. It was only in 1970 that he definitively left the world of advertising to devote himself exclusively to his art. His painting style is particularly distinguished by still lifes, marine landscapes and especially trompe-l’œil imbued with humor.
