André Le Glatin (1935–2020) was a passionate and prolific Parisian painter whose unique creative approach sits at the heart of 20th-century art. Based during his life in his studio in Corbeil-Essonnes, he developed a singular pictorial universe, traversing with ease between expressive portraits, landscapes, and compositions decisively abstract. His talent enabled him to exhibit at the prestigious Cité internationale des arts in Paris in 2007. Marked by major influences, his work unfolded within the aesthetic movement of emblematic artists such as Jean-Michel Folon, Gaston Chaissac, and architect Le Corbusier. He also had the privilege of rubbing shoulders with great figures of modern art by displaying his works alongside famous sculptors Arman and Yves Tinguely. Using various media such as oil on canvas, gouache, and marker on paper, he enjoyed exploring dreamlike themes through works with evocative titles like La marche du siècle or his series of Fantasmagorical Quarters. His artistic legacy, long preserved by his descendants, bears witness to a constant search for geometric forms and vibrant colors.
