One million years ago, a large metallic- composition planetoid impacted the north of Scandinavia, in present-day Sweden. This meteorite is known by the name Muonionalusta, and to this day it is the oldest meteorite on Earth of which there is record. It was first discovered in 1906, and since then a number of specimens have been recovered, usually small in size.

The specimen of this lot is a high-quality, large-sized slice in excellent condition, in which the spectacular Widmanstätten lines can be observed, some of them wrinkled by the impact, something very rare to see and valued by collectors.
