Description from the seller
MiLo (1976), Netherlands
The Rustline is an abstract painting built around a strong contrast between light and dark. A softly layered field of ivory, grey and muted white fills the upper part of the canvas, marked by faint, wandering lines and traces of warm, rusty colour. Below it, a deep band of black anchors the composition, with small earthy accents emerging from its surface.
The transition between these areas is irregular and worn, giving the painting a weathered, almost landscape-like quality without describing a specific place. Its restrained palette and layered marks invite the viewer to look closely and discover details that gradually appear and recede.
About the artist
MiLo is a Dutch contemporary artist whose eclectic practice moves between abstraction, gesture and material experimentation. Working with layered acrylic paint, he builds surfaces through the addition and removal of colour, leaving visible traces of the process. His works have found collectors in the Netherlands and abroad, including Taiwan.
