Description from the seller

There is no more revolution, only products. Where the great political struggles failed to endure, the market has managed to impose itself as the only universal belief.

Artist biography:

Former tagger in the 1990s, Enigme09 discovered photomontage in 2009. Painter Jacques Monory reinforced the path he chose by suggesting a poetic approach to his art.
His compositions combine elements from the world of advertising or popular culture with others belonging to the corpus of Art History. Their mixture is sharp, explosive, surprising, disturbing, but also invites reflection on the status of images and on a possible hierarchy of values between them.

The artist manages to give meaning to familiar signs, emptied of content due to their over-familiarity. But, of course, this meaning is most often far from their original signified. Enigme09 sums up his artistic creed in a succinct formula: “give a voice to images to open our eyes.”
