Seiko - Seiko 5 Automatic Day-Date - No reserve price - Men - 2000-2010

A Japanese-made attractive Seiko 5 Automatic is offered at auction, equipped with the well-known 21-jewel Seiko 7S26 automatic movement.
This unit stands out especially for its quite unusual luminous green dial of the “full lume” type, which takes on a strong green hue in the dark after being exposed to light. In the photographs you can observe the actual luminescence effect.
The dial presents a very characteristic layout. It features applied metallic hour indices, the SEIKO logo and the Seiko 5 emblem at 12, a day-date window at 3, and an external 24-hour scale numbered 13 to 24.
The hour and minute hands also have luminous material, providing excellent legibility in low light.
The stainless steel case measures approximately 37 mm in diameter, not including the crown, a classic and very comfortable size on the wrist. The crown is positioned at about 4 o’clock, following the characteristic design of many Seiko 5 models.
At the back we find a transparent case back, which allows direct observation of the automatic movement Seiko and its rotor. The movement bears the corresponding Seiko and caliber inscriptions.
The watch is accompanied by a metal bracelet with a SEIKO signed clasp, “5” emblem and JAPAN.
Operation
The watch functions correctly and keeps good time during normal use.
A professional measurement with a timegrapher or a prolonged chronometric test has not been performed, so I cannot specify its exact daily deviation in seconds.
The functions of hours, minutes and seconds are operative.
Condition
The watch is a used piece and shows normal signs of wear and age.
The case, bracelet and clasp show scratches, small marks and surface wear visible in the photographs. The crystal also shows some signs of use.
The dial remains attractive and its indices, text and 24-hour scale are clearly visible. The luminescence continues to operate with notable intensity, as explicitly shown in the photographs taken in the dark.
The transparent back allows observing the visual state of the movement and the rotor operation.
Although there is an indication of water resistance on the watch, the seals have not been checked recently, so its water resistance cannot be guaranteed.
