Magnificent Masonic set composed of a large wooden square and a metal compasses, both adorned with numerous symbolic engravings on their two faces.
The peculiarity of this set lies in its two completely different faces, representing the stages of the initiatic path, from the Apprentice to the Fellow Craft, then to the Master Mason.
First face – Apprentice and Fellow Craft
This face is devoted to the early degrees of Freemasonry.
The square presents several symbolic engravings:
- Three columns representing Wisdom, Strength and Beauty, accompanied by their inscriptions.
- Various construction tools, symbols of the work and the perfection of the Freemason.
- The square and the compasses, accompanied by the letter G.
This composition evokes the initiatic work of the Apprentice and the Fellow Craft, as well as their progression toward knowledge.

The second face is devoted to the third degree of Freemasonry.

- Two columns topped by the Sun and the Moon.
- In the center, a skull and crossbones, associated with the square and compasses.
- A triangle with the all-seeing eye.
- A long branch of acacia, a symbol especially important in the Master Mason degree.

The metal compasses

Its two faces are also engraved with different Masonic symbols, including geometric motifs and representations linked to the initiatic tradition.
Its metallic finish and engravings give it a particularly decorative character.
