Description from the seller

An absolute masterpiece in the history of high horology. We present an extraordinary vintage Longines wrist chronograph equipped with the renowned Manufacture Caliber 13ZN with Flyback function (return-to-flight), unanimously regarded by collectors and historians as one of the most fascinating, complex, and prestigious mechanical chronograph movements ever made.

The watch is accompanied by the official Certificate of Authenticity / Longines Archive Extract (issued in Saint-Imier in January 2023), attesting to its production and invoicing on February 22, 1941 at Ostersetzer, a historic and exclusive Longines general dealer/agent for Italy of the time.

Brand: Longines
Model: Chronograph Flyback
Case Reference: 4381
Serial/Case Number: 6018373 (stamped and fully matching between case and movement)
Year of Production: 1941 (Invoiced to the Italian agent Ostersetzer)
Case Diameter: 35 mm (excluding crown) - Classic proportions, elegant and with a strong presence on the wrist
Case Material: 18K Yellow Gold (750/1000) with a polished finish, with clearly defined gold hallmarks inside the case back
Movement: Mechanical manual-wind by Longines Manufacture Caliber 13ZN (29.80 mm, 18 jewels, 18,000 A/h, chronograph column-wheel operation and Flyback complication)
Dial: Professionally restored to a high-end specification ("refreshed brass dial" as mentioned in the certificate), with spectacular clarity of the multi-color scales: blue tachymeter scale, red telemeter scale, baton-style minute markers and counters with barley grain / concentric guilloché
Crystal: Esalite (Plexiglas) transparent and clean
Strap: Premium brown leather with Longines tang buckle
Comprehensive: Official Longines Certificate of Authenticity (2023) with envelope and archive letter from the motherhouse
Movement: Fully functional and precise. Start, stop, and Flyback (zeroing in flight) of the chronograph respond swiftly and accurately.
Aesthetics: The 18k gold case presents in extraordinarily conservative condition.
As duly certified by the Saint-Imier mother house, the brass base plate of the original dial has been professionally restored over time to restore the watch’s legibility and impeccable aesthetic elegance. Crown and hands replaced during era maintenance.
Shipping: Top-Tier, highly secure, tracked and fully insured for the full hammer value with a specialized express courier and armored packaging.
