This Revue Thommen Airspeed ref. 16085 is a Swiss automatic chronograph with a strong and explicit aviation inspiration: large easily readable Arabic numerals, silver dial, sub-dials at 3–6–9, tachymeter on the edge. But what distinguishes it from traditional chronographs are two complications that immediately catch the eye:

The Big Date at 12 o’clock – It’s not the simple date window you find on standard chronographs: it’s a true Big Date implemented with a dedicated module, visible on the dial with two large figures. It’s the element that makes this version immediately recognizable.

The Flyback function – While the chronograph is running, you just press the reset button to zero and start counting instantly again, without stopping and restarting. A complication loved by pilots (from which the name) and rarely present in this price range.

The Heart: automatic caliber J8151 – The movement is built on the proven Valjoux/ETA 7750 chronograph platform, one of the most robust and respected Swiss automatic calibers, enriched with the Big Date module. The finish can be admired through the transparent caseback, where the rotor and moving mechanics are visible.

Revue Thommen: a name, a story – Swiss maison with a centennial tradition tied to flight instruments and measurement tools, symbol of technical, niche watchmaking. A brand highly appreciated by aviation watch enthusiasts, still relatively little known to the general public: precisely for this reason its Flyback/Big Date chronographs prove surprisingly rare on the used market.

Conditions:
Watch in overall excellent cosmetic condition, with normal light signs of wear compatible with its age. Dial very well preserved. Movement functioning.
"NOTE: The chronograph requires servicing. The reset button at 4 o’clock does not correctly reset the chronograph hands. The other functions (time, Big Date and start/stop) are operational. A watchmaker service is recommended."
