Description from the seller
This time I want to tell you about someone who loved to show off in life: pearl necklaces, crowns, and jewelry, put side by side, hers were the most beautiful. Everyone stared when she passed, what she said, where she went... It seemed important to follow her path, so as not to be outdone, my friend... Sisters we are born, not made, and so with this story no one is involved! Each person is made in their own way; what you have is none of your business! Think of your style, your potential, and leave alone those who think ill of you. Only you are the master of your own life. If you act the fool, you will face the penalty—the penalty of not following what your soul would like to say!
With this painting I want to highlight the futility of following trends and fads, also because the satisfaction we get from doing so is brief and ephemeral. It takes little to immediately want more from someone else, creating an unhealthy dissatisfaction, a perpetual, subtle unhappiness that gradually seeps in. We are not meant to be copies of others, nor to do what others dictate to us. Each of us is unique, as long as we follow our inner voice, and gradually you will realize that this is essential to being happy and fulfilled.

ARTIST NEWS
Laura Muolo, born in 1975, a Milan native who has made Rimini her adopted home. She has approached art as a self-taught artist since 2013. Her starting medium is graphite, through which she immediately sought the realism of faces, later turning to other media such as pastels and painting.
She participates in many group exhibitions across Italy and internationally and also displays her works in important Italian museums. Her works are part of several private collections around the world. Four solo exhibitions so far. She has collaborated on the creation of the cover of a poetry book in 2015 and for the cover of a philosophy book in 2023.
Winner and finalist in several artistic competitions, nationally and internationally.
Laura describes her work as follows: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, smoothing, perfecting. Sometimes I use pastel on cardboard to grasp the essence of the subject quickly, in a direct and instinctive way. My style is realistic, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions and stories to decipher. My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures immersed in their thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what is not seen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene arises from photographs of young subjects and takes shape through symbols, objects, and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. For me, painting is a journey into the dimension of the unspoken.”
