Description from the seller
CONCEPT ARTWORK:
Anne and the House in the Woods
Oil on panel mounted on canvas 35x25 cm
Among the tall grass and the old manor,
a friendly deer appeared as if by magic;
I see Annie, the little girl I was back then,
in the golden woods I loved so much.
A sweet veil of melancholy
caresses that time that flew away
Small work from my series "metamorphoses of memory"

ARTIST NEWS
Laura Muolo, born in 1975, a Milan native and Rimini resident by adoption. She began exploring art as a self-taught artist in 2013. Her starting medium is graphite, through which she immediately sought the realism of faces, later exploring other media such as pastel and painting.
She participates in many group shows across Italy and internationally, and her works are also exhibited in important Italian museums. Her works are part of several private collections around the world. Four solo exhibitions so far. She collaborated on the cover for a poetry book in 2015 and for the cover of a philosophy book in 2023.
Winner and finalist in several art competitions, nationally and internationally.
Laura describes her work this way: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, smoothing, perfecting. Sometimes I use pastel on cardboard to immediately grasp the subject’s essence, in a direct and instinctive way. My style is realistic, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions, and stories to decipher.
My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures absorbed in their thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what cannot be seen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene is born from photographs of young subjects and takes shape through symbols, objects, and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. Painting, for me, is a journey into the dimension of the unspoken.”
Laura collaborates with the Ranarossa Galleries of Modena and LoyeloArtGallery of Volterra
