Description from the seller
Large sculpture of the Holy Family – Joseph, Mary and the child Jesus – colorful epoxy resin Christmas display
A atmospheric eye-catcher that brings the warmth of Christmas to life. This large sculpture unites Joseph, Mary and the infant Jesus in a single loving composition. The gentle facial expressions, rich colors and graceful folds in the robes give the scene a restrained, inviting appearance.
Joseph stands protectively behind Mary, holding a staff and a decorative lantern. Mary kneels with folded hands beside the child Jesus, who lies on a straw bed in the manger. The figures are brought together on a base with a rocky structure.
The deep blue of Mary's mantle beautifully contrasts with the green and old-rose of Joseph's clothing. Cream-colored fabrics and gold accents complete the whole. On the back, the elaborated clothing folds continue.
The display aligns with the ancient Christian Christmas tradition, in which the birth of Jesus is central. Mary’s kneeling, adoring posture is a familiar motif within religious art. The togetherness of the Holy Family evokes connection, security and tenderness.
Because of its generous size, this statue is splendid on a sideboard, a spacious windowsill, or as the centerpiece of a Christmas display. Even outside of the holidays it is a meaningful religious interior piece.
