Title: Absorbed gaze
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
Year: 2023
Dante Bellacorte was born in Palermo in 1987. His painting focuses on figurative portraiture, reinterpreted through a contemporary sensibility and a strong reference to classical tradition. In his paintings, female faces emerge from dark, silent backgrounds, illuminated by a warm and theatrical light. The painting material, the textures of the skin, and the intensity of the gazes build images suspended between melancholy, grace, and introspection. Through a refined and textured oil technique, Bellacorte gives life to timeless figures, fragile and solemn, capable of transforming the portrait into an intimate and poetic narrative.
NB: The work will be shipped inside a sturdy, shipment-appropriate tube. The colors of the painting may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. In person, artworks are more beautiful than in photography: one can appreciate the hypnotic beauty of the oil colors coming to life on the canvas.
