Emerging from the graffiti scene, Zoia develops a visual language based on sedimentation, nourished by a practice freed from the constraints of seduction. Paintings, conceived as palimpsests, organize themselves according to a system of layers where overlaps, erasures and reworkings become the very conditions of the image.
This approach preserves from graffiti practice the primacy of gesture and its ability to allow dissonance to subsist. Between the raw energy of graffiti, color as a vector of contrast, and the emotional force of figuration, her works build a controlled tension between spontaneity and composition.
